Male Blogger

Okay, well.... hmmm how to start out.  Well, to get this off my chest, I feel kind of gay starting up my own blog.  I want to officially blame my wife for even suggesting it.  But on the other hand, at a moments whim, I can throw some fun on-goings with a picture or two.  Which is something I can't do in my journal.  So, I can't say I'll be the best blogger, but hey, I'll "blog" here and there.

So, on the way home from one of my Moon-lighting shifts this weekend, I happened upon an accident.  Car vs. motorcycle.  There were two police officers, one was directing traffic, and the other was kind of looking frazzled.  She and others were looking at the ground where the excitement was happening.  I pulled
over.  After finding out that there was someone on the ground and no ambulance had arrived, I hung up with Deb and walked over there.  I told the officer that I was a doctor, and with a sigh of relief she said "oh, good, go ahead" and took some relieving steps back.  After evaluation, the guy turned out to not even have a scratch on him.  His bike was in almost the same condition as he was, only he was much more frustrated and angered being this is the second time this has happened to him.  The first being 4 years ago when a "Mexican hit me".  EMS arrived and I gave them the info.  They briefly checked him and his bike out coming to the same conclusion that I did.

I'm just glad I didn't have to do CPR on the guy.  I really need to put a mask in my car.  Puffin' on someone with a beard might give me nightmares for a long time.

Yes, I took these after the accident had been cleared.

I heard that they don't do traditional CPR anymore, that it's just chest compressions now...is that accurate?

I hope if I ever get in an accident, you will be in the car right behind me. Doctors do so much to help people.
