I love Catholics...I'm not a fan of Ted Kennedy

A man who is chronically drunk, commits several crimes worthy of jail time by drinking and causing a death, and touted to be fighting for "the people" (poor people) when he was living above the system, has lost all of my respect.  He worked in an extreamly lavish offices with marble everything, beautiful wooden panel walls, and carpet you could sleep on comfortably to name just a few.  Last time I checked, our public officers were not kings.  

Should he be touted as a Hero?  Well, I guess Michael Jackson was.  Apparently our nation is okay with morally sloven public figures who speak out of both sides of their mouths.

Let the man rest in peace, and let us move on.  I'm sure he had good intentions during his lifelong career of politics, but that doesn't excuse his slithering around the law and moral askew motives.

Not only do I have great friends who are of the Catholic faith, but I share much in common with their moral beliefs.  Ted Kennedy may have been a self proclaimed "Catholic", but like so many of my faith who decide to go "Jack", he didn't practice it.  I can't put it any better than this courageous Catholic priest.  

A Catholic pro-life leader has some scathing words concerning Senator Ted Kennedy's Catholic funeral.

 

Thomas Euteneuer, president of Human Life International, released this statement concerning Senator Kennedy. "We must, as a matter of precept, pray for the salvation of heretical Catholics like Senator Edward Kennedy, but we do not have to praise him, let alone extol him with the full honors of a public Catholic funeral and all the adulation that attends such an event."   He adds that while Senator Kennedy called himself Catholic, like Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Joe Biden, they are actually wolves in sheep's clothing.   "They do not hold to the teaching of the church. They, in fact, take every opportunity seemingly to contradict the teaching of our church," Euteneuer says. "So in the case of Senator Edward Kennedy, he was not only against his church's teaching on the issue of abortion, but the same with embryonic stem cell research, the same with gay marriage and various other issues which set him in diametric opposition to his church's very well-defined and clearly articulated teaching."   Euteneuer says he is speaking out now to remind everyone that Catholics cannot honor a person with a full and public Catholic funeral when, like Senator Kennedy, he really was not.

 

How long do you want to wait?

If you don't pay with money, you pay with time. If you don't have money, then you spend hours and hours searching for that one person/company that will take you in and help you. If you don't have insurance, then you go to one of the Government run health agencies and wait, and wait, and wait. That wait, could get much much much longer. And the quality? If anyone is a fan of Canada's socialized medicine, I suggest one of two or perhaps both of two things... 1)MOVE THERE! 2)Talk to someone who lives there. The latter has helped me understand how good we have it right now. Perfect system? I think far from it. But to make it worse copying or mimicking their sytem? I think is very irresponsible.

Alex Jones...another "nut job"

No, not just a nut...a super freak nut.

There are Ultra Liberals, such as Barack Obama.  Then there are the Ultra Right extreamists like Alex Jones.  In between you have most of Americans such as democrat, republican, libertarian, conservative etc.  

Somehow this Alex Jones is being attached to the conservative side of things.  That is not a good thing.  What do you think?

Greedy little blood suckers

And no, I'm not talking about phlebotomists or mosquitos...although the latter is very descriptive of them. Yes, I'm talking about all those thoughtless and careless governmental officials who passed the stimulus package without thought of recompense.  So, what do they do?  They see an opportunity to infringe on our freedoms once again, and jump on it!  What?  Something we haven't taxed yet?  Are we idiots?  Lets suck the nation dry!  

LET PEOPLE DO WHAT THEY WANT WITH THEIR MONEY!!!

You see, this is the problem I had with the tobacco tax.  Yes, people need to stop smoking, it causes severe problems.  But it is a perfectly legitimate and legal company.  People are free to make crappy decisions, whether well informed or not.  Let me tell you, everyone who smokes knows it's not good.  They aren't well informed, but informed none the less.  Especially when it comes to exposing their kids to second hand smoke...okay, I'm getting riled and heading off subject here.  So I ask, what are they going to tax next?  Soda pop (fat tax), the air (carbon tax), etc.?  What the devil!?!  They are running out of things to tax, so, they jump on those who want to pay out of pocket to look better. 

So, lets think about the cascade of events logic...Ut oh, beware, here comes some common sense.  And boy has it been lost in my generation and below.  So, you tax the wealthy, so they stop getting as many procedures.  Now there is the surgeon who owns a surgery center, creating 20 plus jobs directly for people in the community, and countless others through maintenance personnel, financial personnel, etc.  So, what happens when the hard working Americans get tax punishment for overachievement?  The cost gets passed on to you.  Always!  Do you feel Taxed Enough Already?

Face-lifts, tummy tucks and hair transplants could be hit with a new tax to help finance the trillion-dollar healthcare overhaul plan, according to sources familiar with the Senate talks.

The Senate Finance Committee has discussed imposing a 10 percent excise tax on cosmetic surgery deemed unnecessary for medical purposes. The idea was broached in a meeting with OMB Director Orszag in mid-July, after which Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus told reporters he had heard some "interesting," "creative," and "kind of fun" ideas.

The tax, which has not been officially scored, would plug some of the revenue gap senators are seeking to fill to keep on schedule for a markup the week of Aug. 3. It would target procedures prohibited under Section 213 of the tax code, which deals with itemized deductions for medical expenses not covered by health insurance.
